Reminiscent of tweed the Harris rug is features detailed check pattern. The colours have a vibrancy created by using the ‘salt & pepper’ weaving technique where a pattern is created using alternating colours in each knot which makes a chequer pattern, as seen in Persian Gabbehs.

Tessuto Collection
Each rug in the Tessuto collection takes inspiration from the distinct qualities of the weave that creates a fabric; whether a heavy woven tartan or the softest of silk. The definition of genuine Harris Tweed is tightly regulated. To be an official "Harris tweed" the cloth must be hand woven by the islanders at their homes in the Outer Hebrides, finished in the islands of The Outer Hebrides and made from pure virgin wool dyed and spun also in the Outer Hebrides. I discovered this beautiful collection on my travels. These pieces are inspired by antique Persian flat weaves and the textures of vintage fabrics, hence the name ‘Tessuto’ meaning fabric.
