Le Tigre was designed in collaboration with the international contemporary artist Jordy Kerwick. The collection is based on his iconic Tiger Rug paintings. All the rugs are hand knotted, made from Sari Silk and produced in limited editions based on a size of 8’x10’. Special commissions will be made for custom sizes.

Le Tigre

In his paintings Jordy explores the relationship between thick patches of colour, texture and form while incorporating elements of natural iconography such as contours of fruits, plants, various animals. As part of our collaboration, we have applied his technique through painting to weaving by using recycled sari silk as the main textile to achieve the random brush strokes and vibrancy of colour.
I have always loved the anarchic quality of Jordy’s paintings with the juxtaposition of colour & naivety to create a powerful allegory. It was irresistible to create rugs of the tiger rug paintings.
