"The world of design can sometimes be perceived as rarified", explains Luke Irwin, "and for me the aim of these talks is to create discussions that makes great design accessible by inviting experts in their fields to explore the significance of an item we are all familiar with, or may even own."

The series reflects the power of objects - large or small, mundane or exceptional, aesthetic or utilitarian - to spark new ideas, and act as a spur for different forms of creativity.
